About David Fox

Having worked in management in the utility and service markets I decided to make a career change into Law. I have completed my PG Dip in Legal Practice and previously worked in litigation for a number of years. Didn’t like it very much and moved in to the civil service for a better work life balance. Currently work as C1 - Deputy Head Document and Evidence Management Team at Scottish Covid-19 Public Inquiry. I manage part of the Scottish Covid-19 Public Inquiry. The Inquiry is investigating the Covid-19 pandemic in Scotland. The Inquiry will establish the facts about the devolved response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to identify what lessons there are for the future. People in Scotland have suffered as a result of Covid-19. The Inquiry will examine what was done to face the challenge of the pandemic. The Inquiry will report on what worked well, areas where things could have been done better, and make recommendations. Having completed a number of university courses, I have developed effective research skills, working on my own, as a team and to deadlines. I also have advanced IT skills on both Windows and Apple software. Previously worked on a number of IT implementation projects, managing the development of new IT programs and then seeing them through to end user training. Prior to working in SCI I worked for HMRC in the Covid Response Unit as their Information Manager and also project managed of parts of the Self Employed Scheme and Eat out to Help Out using a hub and spoke method. Originally worked usions Six Sigma as my project management methodology and in later years more experienced with using Agile project management. Throughout my career I have managed teams of people and held my CIPD qualifications.
