David Khalaf is a writing, communications, and marketing professional with specialties in fiction, journalism, investigations, content strategy, and writing instruction. His 20 years of writing and editing work have included two top-tier universities (USC and UCLA), print and digital magazines, publishing houses, consulting firms, and technology companies. His current work involves content strategy and development at LegitScript, a company that helps the world's leading search engines, payment service providers, and internet platforms and marketplaces do business with legitimate, legally operating entities in more than 80 countries and 15 languages around the world. LegitScript specializes in risk and compliance for highly regulated industries including CBD/cannabis, online gambling, cryptocurrencies, drugs, financial trading, online adult, scams and fraud, and more. David earned his bachelor's degree in journalism and cinematic writing from the University of Southern California, where he also served as editor-in-chief of the Daily Trojan newspaper. He later earned a master's degree at USC for professional and creative writing. David is co-author of Modern Kinship: A Queer Guide to Faith-based Marriage (Westminster John Knox Press, 2019), and author of The Burdens historical fantasy series. The Sixteen Burdens was named a Favorite Indie Book of 2015 (Self-Publishing Review) and chosen as a 2016 Editor's Choice (Historical Novel Society).
