About David Mislan

Throughout my three careers, I've been obsessed with measuring things. How can we talk about the world if we don't agree on what the world is? In my current role, I lead a small team of assessment specialists that create, analyze, and score large scale assessments related to government and politics. Some are administered nationwide, while others are taken on the other side of the world. I love that I'm part of a team that is building a stronger, more meritorious world. Prior to ETS, I was a professor for ten years at American University's School of International Service, where I was a core member of the graduate and undergraduate US foreign policy programs. My work as a political scientist took me to Japan, Taiwan, the former Yugoslavia, and Central America, among other places. I've also worked as a government contractor (mostly on program metrics and evaluation) and as a political consultant.
