About David Ouellette

As a business advisor and mentor at Leap Junction, Fanshawe College's entrepreneurship center, I have been helping students and alumni explore pathways to entrepreneurship since 2018. I specialize in providing 1-on-1 consultations and workshops to support potential business owners in the pre-startup, startup, launch, and early-stage growth phases. In this role, I have honed my skills as an experienced digital marketer. I have a deep understanding of SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, and content marketing. I am skilled in creating marketing campaigns that engage customers and drive results. Additionally, I am an experienced creative thinker and problem solver, with a track record of developing innovative marketing strategies that address complex business challenges. Beyond marketing, I have experience managing dynamic teams in high-pressure settings. As a part owner, marketing manager, and special events manager for Boarder Pass Cable Wakeboard Parks from 2014 to 2020, I was responsible for leading a team of employees, vendors, and contractors. In this role, I developed my skills in leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making under pressure. In my current role as the program manager of the leapIN Business Accelerator, I have developed additional skills in project management and team building. As the program manager, I am responsible for managing a team of mentors, coaches, and volunteers. I have created an environment that fosters collaboration and creativity and ensures that our participants have the support and resources they need to succeed. In addition to my advisory role, I owned and operated Fresh Wakes Watersports Camp, a water sports summer camp for kids and adults that focused on providing wakeboarding, waterskiing, and other on-water activities to the local community from 2006 to 2010. Through this venture, I honed my skills in leadership, communication, and customer relationship management. My diverse educational background, combined with my experience in the entrepreneurship, water sports, and marketing industries, has equipped me with a unique set of skills and knowledge that I bring to all of my work.
