Over 20 years experience in the biotechnology & healthcare sectors. Founder, Director and Senior executive leadership experience with extensive scientific expertise. The ability and passion to formulate and translate science to outcomes, business development and commercialisation skills, with extensive research networks locally and internationally. Successfully managed Quality systems development and certification, manufacturing of products and successful FDA clearance of product. Very broad scientific research expertise and interests including medical device biomaterials, protein & carbohydrate chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biology, virology & anti-infective fields with over 40 peer reviewed articles, many in high impact journals. Led teams of multi-disciplinary researchers in identifying and developing biomaterial surgical implants for soft tissue repairs of multiple tissue types, several classes of novel compounds to inhibit organisms such as HIV, HCV & multidrug resistant bacteria. Several of these programs progressed through preclinical development & attracted licensing deals, with many continuing in their development today. Awarded significant funding from many State & Federal government agencies and managed a start-up private company. Inventor on multiple filed & granted patents.
