About David Tholen

With over seven years of experience in international development and social innovation, I am passionate about empowering people and communities through inclusive and human-centered design. As the Regional Director Partnerships Asia & MENA at Viamo, I lead the strategy and execution of our partnerships with governments, NGOs, and private sector actors across the region, with the aim of increasing access to information and feedback for millions of people.I also serve as the Country Director for Viamo in one of our key markets, where I oversee the operations, sales, and growth of our mobile engagement platform. In this role, I have successfully secured and managed multiple large contracts with diverse clients, ranging from UN agencies to telecom operators, and delivered impactful projects on topics such as health, education, and governance. I leverage my skills and credentials as a certified Design Thinking Coach and a Presencing Institute alumna to foster a culture of empathy, creativity, and collaboration within my team and with our partners. I am always eager to learn and apply new tools and approaches to enhance our social impact and organizational resilience.
