Veteran social strategist Deborah O’Connor recently created the Mountain Brook-based company to help Birmingham-area executives, business leaders and job seekers prepare for career advancement. She provides private and group coaching and seminars that enable her clients to better dress and conduct themselves. Dr. Lauren Skinner Beitelspacher, Assistant Professor of Marketing at UAB, has asked Deborah to work with her American Marketing Association students this fall."Deborah has an inherent understanding of etiquette, image and social strategy and how they impact the job search, especially in this difficult economic climate." During the early 1990’s Deborah became a respected community leader in Atlanta. She served on boards and fund-raised for a major hospital and other organizations, including the Junior League. Later she earned her MBA and began offering image and etiquette consulting to Fortune 500 executives and leading attorneys toward greater success in Fort Lauderdale. Since then Deborah has advised and managed the affairs of a variety of high-profile individuals. Recently she decided to relocate in Birmingham, which she considers a vibrant city full of potential. “Helping others succeed has always been a passion of mine. Often what holds someone back are a few bad habits, sometimes as simple as wearing clothes that don’t compliment your body type or not observing proper etiquette.” Billy Harvill, Chairman of the Board of IntermarkGroup, is one of Deborah’s many fans.
