About Dee Gillingham

My passion for marketing stemmed from my childhood when I would create brochures for family holidays and plan all my friend's birthday parties with elaborate themes and scheduled activities. I didn't know then, but I was creating experiences and journeys with all the skills a great marketer works hard to learn, which came so naturally to me. After undergrad, I started as a part-time substitute teacher in Florida, during the peak of the pandemic. Shortly, I became a full-time Second-grade teacher with an amazing group of students. Teaching felt natural to me and my love for kids shone through. But it wasn't my dream. So, I decided to move to Dublin, Ireland and study for a Master's in Digital Marketing at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. I had visited Dublin a few times beforehand and knew Europe was the place for me. During my studies I joined a startup as a Marketing Intern, analysing market research and assisting in the development of a go-to-market strategy for the U.S.(I had first-hand experience with the industry we were researching). After only six months, I was promoted to Marketing Executive and took on graphic design, webpage management, guardian of the brand, and more. And that's where I'm at now. A few things about me you should know: I strive to help others in all that I do, a mission I seek to fulfil in all my roles. I know that effective communication comes from listening first and talking second. I constantly drive to learn more and grow as a person, employee, and colleague. 🧠 I am an advocate for mental health and well-being, something I value greatly.
