About Demi Dalton

While completing my final year of Bachelor of Social Sciences (Psychology) degree, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in a practical environment, facing constructive challenges and expanding my understanding. I am adept at working independently and have developed a strong ability to provide care to clients with diverse needs. I have gained invaluable insights, expanded my knowledge base, and found inspiration from my experiences. Working with seasoned mentors, possessing extensive expertise in their respective domains, has significantly honed my ability to implement tailored recovery strategies with clients in a well-informed and adaptable manner. My experience in acute community mental health has further equipped me with evidence-based practice including the use of grounding techniques, CBT-based mindfulness techniques, thought challenging, distress tolerance, sleep hygiene and various other approaches. Additionally, I completed the Systematic Tailored Assessment for Responding to Suicidality (STARS) training in 2022 which focuses on person-centered, psychosocial needs based assessment while integrating safety planning as a collaborative method to build trust with clients. I also possess a comprehensive understanding of the local and national agencies and service providers that can positively contribute to a client's pathway. I take pride in my crisis intervention skills and have been commended for remaining calm and providing effective support to clients in distress.
