I’m looking to make a positive impact on the world. I’ve acquired a powerful and unique mix of skills and experience over a 20+ year career to help me achieve that. I combine soft, empathetic people skills with hard technical mastery. I do complex, quantitative analysis but communicate in engaging, non-technical language. I believe this combination enables me to be very effective in an impactful role in many fields. I’m passionate about global challenges like sustainability, climate-change, X-risk reduction, AI Governance, poverty and disease, alternative protein … and technical/engineering challenges. Throughout my career, I’ve been the person that people come to with impossible problems. I solve, and help others to solve, tough challenges to deliver results. I build and lead great teams, to design and deliver new-to-the-world solutions. I find better ways to approach problems and step-change innovation productivity. As an engineer, I’ve worked on FMCG, Pharma and Chemicals. As a consultant I've worked with corporate project teams, start-ups and universities. I'm highly qualified in AI Governance. I’m a lifelong learner. I love to help others succeed as a coach, trainer or manager. In 20+ years of technical and business innovation leadership at P&G, I delivered complex technical and commercial projects, led multi-functional, global teams and became a corporate leading expert and lead-trainer in the field of Scale-up. I also started and led initiatives to help make P&G more inclusive, more innovative and a better place to work for everyone, and received important recognition for this. In 5 years (2018-23) as Head of Engineering and CTO at Immaterial, a clean-energy start-up, I built an engineering team and program from scratch. We over-delivered against an ambitious 4-year IUK project; we designed and built pilot-production facility producing the previous production rate of an innovative crystalline product with massive potential for efficient Carbon-capture and reduced-pressure Hydrogen-storage. As a senior consultant at P2S, I coach companies on how to transition to a more effective and sustainable Service Model. As an EU Expert Evaluator, I identify effective projects for Horizon 2020 in areas such as bio-plastics.
