About Denis Vida
I am interested in all aspects of natural objects that enter our atmosphere - from micrometer dust particles to dangerous asteroids. Recently, I expanded my expertise to Space Situational Awareness (SSA) with the advent of mega-constellations, and to atmospheric physics and climate change mitigation. Specifically, I'm looking to help eliminate the impact of contrails on climate change using ground-based camera observations. I leverage my formal training in computer science to apply AI and machine learning methods in my work. I am the founder and coordinator of the Global Meteor Network, an open-source project with over cameras worldwide that aims to observe every accessible meteor, track satellites, and observe atmospheric phenomena.
