I attended Rondebosch Boys High School, did my National Service in the South African Navy and attended Saasveld College (now the George Campus for the NMMU). I am in possession of B Tech degree in Nature Conservation and I am busy with my M.Sc in Conservation Biology at UWC. I have a valid Code 08 driver’s licence and twenty eight (30) years’ experience in Nature Conservation, 24 of which have been in Reserve Management. I am computer literate, bilingual and I have sound strong interpersonal and communication skills. At present I am the Integrated Catchment Specialist for the West landscape (and Acting as ICS for Central Landscape) having spent 23 years in reserve management I am highly qualified in the fields of Conservation and Incident Command as well ad invasive plant control and management having 24 years’ experience in managing alien clearing projects on Riverlands and Limietberg Nature Reserves. The focus of my M.Sc is the impact of herbicide on fynbos while clearing Pines using the Aerial Wanding Method I would describe myself as a driven, committed, confident and an energetic individual who is strong-minded, determined, with a high regard for work ethics. I also have the ability to multi-task and I operate exceptionally well under pressure. I am a self-starter and I am always looking for ways in which to innovate, initiate, apply resources more effectively and improve operational efficiency. I enjoy working with people
