About Derek Bradberry

As an enthusiastic educator with over 10 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and special education, I have developed a strong foundation in supporting diverse learners and creating effective learning environments. My career spans across physical education, special education, and driver education, where I’ve honed my skills in classroom instruction, extracurricular activities, and curriculum design. Currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education, my research focuses on the impact of physical activity on sleep and academic performance in college students. With a background in curriculum development and e-learning, I have applied the ADDIE model to create and manage online educational content, converting in-classroom materials into digital modules for platforms like Schoology. Key Experience: Physical Education Teacher at Cambridge Lakes Charter School, where I teach students from Kindergarten to High School, coach cross-country, and actively support the athletics department and school events. Special Education Teacher Assistant and Job Coach at District 211, where I provided support to students with IEPs, particularly in the transition program for students aged 18-22, helping prepare them for competitive employment post-high school. Curriculum Developer at Joyce’s Driving School, where I developed multimedia materials, online modules, and instructional content for LMS platforms. I am passionate about improving educational outcomes, whether through direct teaching or by designing impactful curricula that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
