About Derek Cheslock

A proven security professional with over 21 years of related in field and management experience. I began my career with Wackenhut security Services in 1997 in Ottawa. I then progressed to a major retail location as part of the in house uniformed security unit. In 2006 I transitioned to Ottawa Community Housing's community safety services unit. In 2011 I moved onto working with GardaWorld protective services and progressed through the levels of management from Site Supervisor in 2011 upwards until 2016 where I was a senior Branch Manager. In 2016 I moved to GardaWorld's Cash in Transit services as Branch Manager of their Gatineau location. In 2017 I left GardaWorld to explore an opportunity with the Ontario public sector where I currently hold the title of Administrative Assistant, Ontario Disability Support Program with the Children, Community and Social Services. I consider myself to be a forward thinker and have a strong ability to deliver exceptional client and customer service. I am able to think outside of the box to address client needs to ensure that the best possible service delivery is attained. Throughout my longstanding employment history I have developed many skill sets and abilities from front line security and investigations work to human resources managment and recruitment best practices. Budgetary control techniques, fiscal accountability and budget forecasting. KPI adherence, CPTED and threat risk analysis development. I also have strong background in training and leadership fundamentals. My experiences in both the physical security and public sectors have given me tools, training and skill sets to be extremely adaptive to any environment.
