About Derek Santiago

With over 15 years of experience in various roles related to community development, education, and wellness, I am passionate about creating positive social impact and empowering others to achieve their goals. I have a CompTIA Project+ certification and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management, which enable me to plan, execute, and monitor effective programs and campaigns. As a Program Assistant at Connecticut Community Foundation, I support the organization's grantmaking and community leadership initiatives, which aim to foster a thriving and inclusive region. I use my communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, such as nonprofit partners, donors, volunteers, and community members. I also assist with designing, implementing, and evaluating various programs. Additionally, I am a registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance, and I teach vinyasa yoga and high-intensity interval training classes at several studios and online platforms. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion for fitness and wellness with others, and I provide health coaching and nutritional guidance to my clients.
