With over 20 years of experience in creating innovative solutions, Derek has developed numerous new products in the healthcare, industrial, entertainment, and consumer markets. His activities in product development include system design, hardware engineering, software development, mechanical integration, and release to manufacturing. Xology is a full service electronic engineering company. We provide hardware, firmware, software, test systems, and battery characterization services. Clients range from small startups to Fortune 100 companies in the industrial, consumer, and medical industries. Current areas of excellence include low power wireless networks, including complete "sensor to server" applications consisting of hardware, firmware, software, and user interface design. Prior to starting Xology, Derek co-founded Awarepoint Corporation a leader in asset tracking using low power wireless networks. With over 15 issued US patents, Mr. Smith continues to drive innovation and achieve results.
