About Derinda Smith

As an Education Specialist with over twenty years of experience, I help organisations to meet the needs of their workforce and to empower their staff to reach their potential. I offer a genuine understanding of professional learners and the ability to communicate that to others, and to create the environment to help them to achieve their goals. I specialise in the areas of project and program management, workforce capability, curriculum, assessment, evaluation, partnerships, and mentoring. My most recent contract role was as an Operations Analyst at ISPT, where I was involved in business process improvement, governance and insurance. I applied my skills in data analysis, change management, stakeholder engagement and staff training to enhance the efficiency and risk mitigation of the organisation. Previously, I managed the assessment of DeakinCo.'s suite of Professional Practice credentials, which provide formal recognition of capabilities as applied in the workplace. I also coached candidates, recruited and mentored assessors, and worked with external clients on various programs involving credentials. I am passionate about transforming lives through education and enabling professionals to demonstrate their skills and competencies in a meaningful and credible way.
