Background
About Derisha Govender
I would describe myself as someone who is always in pursuit of unconventional adventure. I’ve learnt there’s an interesting journey in most things you do if you’re willing to do the exploring. I appreciate the problem solving nature of architectural design and it’s expansive potential to reshape our experience of life and the world around us. My endeavours to steer my career in the direction of sustainable architecture has opened my mind, coloured my creativity and geared my thinking toward tackling the specific design problems that result in more environmentally friendly buildings. I consider myself something of a dreamer with a healthy dash of cynicism for balance. There are few things that don't catch my curiosity and I live by the responsibility we share with all professions to learn a little further about the world around us in order to design more conscientiously for it."
