About Devin Arrants

Diligent, adept, recent graduate with a focus in data mining, model optimization, and data analytics using machine learning models. Looking for a career opportunity that uses statistics to find complex data patterns that drive a meaningful impact. My passion for data was preceded by one for computer science. Long before college, I was exploring various programming languages and their best uses, designing simple robotics, and completing algorithm and data structure-based challenges on LeetCode and HackerRank. Upon going to college, I began with Computer Science, but ended up studying Analytical Statistics, as this major offered me the opportunity to use my programming skills to solve real world problems. During the pandemic, I dedicated my time to learning by completing various, diverse courses and certifications through Coursera. One of those certifications happened to be the IBM Data Science Professional Certificate, which was my first introduction to machine learning and the start of a newfound passion for data. For the remainder of the pandemic, when not working, you could only find me behind a screen, working on one of many Kaggle challenges. This new passion for data and machine learning models only confirmed my change in major. While much of my educational experience lies in data mining, analytics, and machine learning models, I am a quick-learning and intellectually curious individual that can adapt to any role. Additionally, my extensive experience with teaching yoga and working in the service industry has honed my skills in communication, task management, and problem-solving. I am able to efficiently assess a situation and take action to resolve it, while maintaining composure even in a high stress environment. I am eager to use my technical skills to contribute to a business with a strong company culture that supports upward growth in employees, and that is working to make a positive impact.
