About Devon Adams

My skills include but are not limited to a love and passion for video games, a creative mind, the ability to work within a team setting, the ability to take criticism and concerns, and the desire to learn and improve. My most successful project so far was a hiring simulator that focused on biases based on a candidate's features called Corporation Incorporated. I was the project lead and helped develop the basis for the game. I continued to provide support by providing my insight into any potential conflicts between team members and managing the game's progress throughout the three teams. This game is currently in the final stages of a competition. My main goals, as a game designer, are to make one of the longest and most diverse game series ever and to make video games more inclusive to minorities. My working title for my dream series is “Worlds Collide.” As one can guess, this will be a crossover series. I plan to release four games, each one generating its own fandom and critical acclaim. I would then make a crossover game where the worlds of the four games will collide. This would create a story starring the main characters of the games and alluding to future world colliding events. After this, I would rinse and repeat the process but be very secretive and selective of which character from each game will star in the Worlds Collide. I hope that the Worlds Collide games will generate a lot of hype and people will be theorizing about which characters will make it. My other goal is to grow the gaming community. A lot of gamers in minorities struggle to immerse themselves in their gaming experience. This is usually due to the playable character being either a white male or a questionably Asian/white male. As an African American myself, I struggle to find characters that look like me. Even more so when I want a character that impacts the story and isn’t just thug number four through seven. I plan to include a variety of characters in my games. People of all colors, faiths, and genders will be able to find someone they can identify with.
