About Devon Behrer

I live my life by an approximation of President Kennedy's famous quote,"Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country," though I choose to substitute 'community' for country. My community is larger than my country and my commitment to help that community extends far beyond borders. I work to make the world a better place, step by step, little by little. That passion to help my community was inspired by my parents and flamed by a Jesuit education at Boston College. I have spent the last two years teaching English as a Second Language in tiny, isolated village on in island in the south Pacific with Peace Corps. While there I taught English reading and writing classes and led a number of projects to enhance student learning including- Working with a community leader to create an example grant application for future community reference - Leading 20 volunteers to plan, draw, and paint a large world map on a school wall - Planning, editing, organizing and distributing a monthly school newsletter in the local language I'm currently looking for my next answer to "what can you do for your [community]?
