About Devon Manning

I have always enjoyed engaging both the creative and analytical parts of my brain. For a long time, I didn’t know how to combine the two into a career. Finding UX Design was the perfect mix of the two for me. My desire to help has not changed. I intend to leverage my prior experience as a birth professional to bring a level of empathy and attention to detail that’s critical to making intuitive user experiences. I am a positive and driven person with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. I have a keen understanding of what clients’ needs and wants are, and am able to provide recommendations based on my comprehensive research in order to make those everyday interactions with products useful, enjoyable, and accessible. I have been working within a Product Team as the primary UX Designer, developing a keen understanding of clients’ needs and wants. Primarily using Figma to design new features for the web platform & user app; from idea conceptualisation, to user research, competitor analysis, wireframes, prototypes and hand off to development. Maintaining a relationship with the development team to discuss potential need for reiterations & ensuring the designs meet the success criteria outlined by the project management team. Emphasis on designing for accessibility – WCAG guidelines, to ensure AA compliancy. Notable projects include; Auditing the platform & suggesting restructure or UX improvements, working with design agency to begin the transition to inhouse design, maintaining a library of assets & design systems and creating Lottie file animations using Adobe After Effects.
