About Diego Cese

Hi I'm Diego, I'm an IT guy focused in the oil & gas industry. I started my career in 2008 working as a software developer, then system administrator for several companies. During these first assignments I had the possibility to practice what I learned both at the university and on my own, doing experience in several branches of the IT world, from visualization to network security. 7 years ago I moved to Geolog International which is specialized in surface logging services dedicated to the oil & gas industry, up-stream sector (exploration and production). In the first year in Geolog I worked with the IT Department, learning in deep the various proprietary software used in this job, and getting in touch with geology. I then moved to a team in charge of providing technical support and advice (not only about IT topics) to our geology laboratories working all over the world both onshore and offshore. This team which I'm part of, called Leonardo, is especially involved in resolving problems in critical situations and emergencies. I'm based in Milan HQ but ready to flight wherever needed to the rig sites where we operate. Other then providing support I also help the Production Dept. to design new projects for our clients, follow the installations, and any eventual issue that may happen from the rig-up (installation of the laboratory and sensors) to the end of the service. These services are usually required in complex scenarios and advanced rigs so everyday is a new adventure to meet the client's demand and to develop better solutions.
