Background
About Dilek Vatansever
I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Physics Department on the project titled "Preparation of Gel Electrolytes from Plant and Animal Biopolymers and Their Use in Energy Storage Devices" since July 2023. We prepared gel electrolytes using quince seed and aloe vera as plant-based materials, and egg white and bone broth as animal-based biopolymers. The project is an example of upcycling, as these biopolymers are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and human-friendly. One international (PCT/TR2023/051540) and one national (2023/016183 TURKPATENT) patent application have been filed for this work. I have also received a national patent (2023/010451 TURKPATENT) registration. Additionally, one study was published in and another was submitted to a journal covered by SCIE (Q1). Meanwhile, the results of another electrode aging study were published in a journal covered by SCIE (Q1). During my PhD period, I worked on turning inexpensive, easier-to-produce and environmentally friendly materials into prototype devices by using various production and electrochemical analysis methods. I produced and characterized conductive polymer, metal oxide and composite materials used as electrodes in supercapacitors. I gained experience in fabricating electrodes with high capacitive efficiency and cycling stability by establishing the link between the capacitive behavior of these materials and their electrochemical and structural properties. I have experience with a wide range of characterization techniques such as CV, EIS, and XRD. One study was published, and another was submitted to SCIE-indexed journals. Moreover, we applied for a national (2022/018543) and an international patent (PCT/TR2022/051507). I also participated in the work packages of the project, titled "Investigation of the structural properties of materials used in supercapacitors and spinOLEDs and comparison with other properties," which was supported by our university. As part of the project, I received detailed training on X-ray diffraction (XRD, Bruker AXS/Discovery D8). I can use the device and perform phase analysis of the obtained results. I have extensive experience in electrodeposition of metal, metal oxide, and conductive polymer films, and their electrochemical, structural, electrical, and magnetic characterizations. I am also willing to adapt these films to practical application fields.
