Istanbul Technical University
ITU is a state university which defines and continues to update methods of engineering and architecture in Turkey. It provides its students with modern educational facilities while retaining traditional values, as well as using its strong international contacts to mould young, talented individuals who can compete not only within their country borders but also in the global arena. ITU was established in 1773, during the time of the Ottoman Sultan Mustafa Under its original name "Muhendishane-i Bahr-i Humayun", The Royal School of Naval Engineering, its responsibility was to educate chart masters and ship builders. In 1795, the "Muhendishane-i Berr-i Humayun", The Royal School of Military Engineering, was established to educate technical staff in the army. In 1847, education in the field of architecture was also introduced. Established in 1883, the “Hendese-i Mülkiye”, the School of Civil Engineering, assumed the name “Mühendis Mekteb-i Alisi”, Engineering Academy, in 1909, with the aim of educating the staff for work on the country’s infrastructure projects. Gaining university status in 1928, the “Yüksek Mühendis Mektebi”, Engineering Academy, continued to provide education in the fields of engineering and architecture until it was incorporated into Istanbul Technical University, in 1944. Finally, in 1946, ITU became an autonomous university, including the Faculties of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

Hasan Kalyoncu University
Gazikent Üniversitesi 19 Ağustos 2008 tarihinde Gaziantep Eğitim ve Hizmet Vakfı tarafından kuruldu. İlk öğrencilerini 2010-2011 akademik yılında alan Üniversitemiz, ikinci akademik yılında altmış il ve yirmi beş ülkeden gelen öğrencileri ile eğitim ve öğretime devam ediyor. Gazikent Üniversitesi, tarihi mirasının farkında; çağdaş dünyayı anlayan ve yorumlayan; geleceği (bilgi toplumu) temelinde ve doğrudan katılımcı demokratik kültürle şekillendirecek bir üniversitedir. Mütevelli Heyetimizin aldığı Üniversitemizin isminin değiştirilmesi kararı, YÖK tarafından da uygun görüldü ve TBMM’nin 18 Nisan 2012 tarihinde kabul ettiği bir kanunla Üniversitemizin ismi “Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi” olarak değiştirildi. Üniversitemizin yeni ismi, ilgili kanunun Cumhurbaşkanımız tarafından imzalanmasının ardından Resmi Gazetede yayınlanarak resmiyet kazandı. Malum olduğu üzere, son zamanlarda, eğitime ve ülkemize hizmet etmiş kişilerin adlarının çeşitli üniversitelere verilmesi suretiyle hatıraları yaşatılmaktadır. Hayır sahiplerinin “hayır” ile anılması, geleneğimizin ve kültürümüzün de bir gereğidir. Bu kararla, kurucumuz ve büyüğümüz rahmetli Hasan Kalyoncu’nun ismi Üniversitemizle ebedileşmiş olacaktır. Gazikent Üniversitesi olarak “özgürlük, adalet ve ahlak temelinde eğitim, araştırma ve yenilik odaklı bir üniversite olma” vizyonu ile çıktığımız yola, Hasan Kalyoncu Üniversitesi olarak devam edeceğiz.

Kastamonu University
Our university, which aims at having a distinguished place among national and international universities, was founded on the basis of the law no 5467 on 1st March, 2006. Despite being a recently founded university, Kastamonu University has established itself as a “Developing Young University” with its innovations in social, cultural and sports areas as well as its physical developments. Our main campus, Kuzeykent Campus, is located on an area of 237 hectares on the north of the city. With an increasing number of qualified academic and administrative staff, our university carries out its academic activities within 13 faculties, 3 institutes, 3 schools and 13 vocational schools. Besides, 1 conference hall, 2 sports halls (one in the main campus and the other in the Faculty of Education Campus), 2 fitness centers, central and student laboratories, 1 research and surveying ship, 1 football field, 2 social facility buildings, outdoor sports fields, 1 practice hotel and a kindergarten located in the Faculty of Education Campus serve for the students and the staff. Our university has bilateral agreements with the universities from such countries as the USA, Argentina, Portugal, Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, The Philippines and Malaysia. Within the framework of these agreements, 2-year vocational school graduates has the opportunity to enroll to the undergraduate programmes and 4-year school and faculty graduates can apply for the Master’s Degree programmes at the universities abroad. The agreements also involve cooperation in the areas of research, projects and student and staff exchanges. Our university promises a stress-free, calm and healthy environment where theoretical education is put into practice, the cooperation and communication between the academic staff and students are effective and strong.

Marmara University
Marmara University is one of the oldest educational institutions in Turkey. Established on 16 January, 1883 under the name Hamidiye Ticaret Mekteb-i Âlisi, and affiliated with the Commercial, Agriculture, Forestry and Mining industry, Marmara University began its life in a house behind the Istanbul High School for Girls in Cağoğlu. The first graduates (13 people) matriculated in 1887. On 21 September, 1889 the school was affiliated with the Education Ministry; in 1893 the school was closed, with the idea that it would be reformed and reopened in the near future. On 15 October, 1897 the school, still affiliated with the Education Ministry, was reopened; from this date on the university has provided education.

Mimar Sinan University Of Fine Arts
Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University has a long history dating back to 1882, first starting as an Academy and finally gaining its status as a university in 1984. Bachelors programs are available in a number of disciplines, including Fine Arts (courses include photography, tiles and ceramics, carpet design, calligraphy, sculpture, costume making, and graphic design), Architecture, and Science and Letters. Graduate students can then continue their education at the Institute of Science and Technology (programs include Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy and Proficiency in Art, as well as many others), or the Institute of Social Sciences, where they can undertake a graduate program in many subject areas, including History of Art, Turkish Language and Literature, or Cinema and TV. There is also a Conservatory within the University offering courses in Music and Performing Arts, and a Vocational School offering a Textiles Program. Since 2002, the University has also been offering an Erasmus Exchange Program for its students. The University also includes the Resim Heykel Müzesi (Painting and Sculpture Museum). The collection boasts more than painting and 400 sculptures from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Baskent University
Bir vakıf üniversitesi olan Başkent Üniversitesi, ülkemizin nitelikli yüksek öğrenim kurumlarına olan ihtiyacına cevap vermek amacıyla, “Türkiye Organ Nakli Yanık ve Tedavi Vakfı” ve “Haberal Eğitim Vakfı” ile birlikte Kurucu Rektörümüz Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal tarafından 1993 yılında kurulmuştur. Başkent Üniversitesi bugün 12 Fakülte, 1 Devlet Konservatuarı, 8 Enstitü, 7 Meslek Yüksekokulu, 24 Araştırma Uygulama Merkezi, 1600 civarında öğretim elemanı, 18 öğrenci ve 40 mezunuyla ülkemizin önde gelen eğitim kurumlarından birisi haline gelmiştir. Kurulduğundan bu yana eğitim ve düşünce yaşamına katkı sağlayan Başkent Üniversitesi uluslararası standartlara ve rekabet koşullarına cevap veren bir eğitim anlayışıyla eğitim–öğretim hizmetlerini sürdürmektedir.
