About Dirga David Suhendi

My name is Dirga David Suhendi, and I work as a Regional Exploration Geologist at the Geomin Unit of PT Antam Tbk. My expertise lies in gold exploration, particularly within epithermal and porphyry mineral deposits. Since joining Antam in 2016, I have actively contributed to various exploration initiatives across Indonesia, including Aceh, Banten, West Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, Gorontalo, North Sulawesi, North Maluku, and Papua Pegunungan. I hold a Master’s degree in Geological Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), which I completed in 2024. My master’s thesis was titled Characterization of Cu-Mo Mineralization in the Darknir Prospect, Oksibil District, Papua Pegunungan Province. Prior to that, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from the same institution in 2015, with a thesis focused on Structural Controls on Alteration and Mineralization in Doup, East Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi. Both of these research projects underscore my deep interest in porphyry-type mineral deposits. Beyond my geological pursuits, I am passionate about integrating AI technology into exploration processes. In 2023, alongside my colleagues Bayu Rahmanto and Satriya Alrizki, I co-developed an innovative project titled "QCI Alien: Accelerating the Data Analysis Process for Determining Target Exploration Areas Using Artificial Intelligence ChatGPT and Google Earth Engine in Preliminary Gold Exploration Studies by Geomin". This improvement has garnered significant recognition, including first place at the Geomin Quality Convention 2023, first place at the Antam Quality Convention 2023, the prestigious Dharma Karya Muda award from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2023, and a 'Platinum' award at the National Quality and Productivity Convention 2023. Our project is also being showcased at the International Quality & Productivity Convention 2024 in Manila, Philippines and got the 'Excellent' category award. With eight years of experience in the field, I am proficient in various regional exploration software, including ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo, Datamine, Leapfrog, and ioGAS. My current focus is on utilizing ioGAS to analyze pathfinder elements associated with Au-Cu mineralization in epithermal and porphyry deposits. I am committed to continuing my growth as a regional exploration geologist and contributing to the discovery and development of valuable mineral resources for Indonesia and for the sustainable success of future Antam projects especially in gold commodities.
