About Doreen Remen

I am focused on maximizing the impact of dynamic companies and visionary investors by matching them to artists and creatives at the highest level. Authentic arts and culture programs, woven into the fabric of today’s industries, can have far reaching effects on businesses, employees and audiences. Art inspires innovative thinking, strengthens corporate and individual identity, and fosters community. Art that reaches well beyond museums and galleries, benefits everyone. To address a growing desire for significant, impactful and high quality art activations sought by corporate clientele, I, and my business partner Yvonne Force Villareal, launched Culture Corps in 2014. I began my career as an architect before translating my love of public structures and cityscapes to the field of public art. In I co-founded Art Production Fund (APF), a non-profit organization with the mission to realize ambitious art projects in the public realm and introduce new audiences to the power of art. Committed to pushing the envelope of public art, my co-founder Yvonne Force Villareal and I grew APF into a legendary mainstay of the art world. Spearheading a national program of outdoor installations, including iconic installations such as Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains in Las Vegas, NV and Elmgreen & Dragset’s Prada Marfa in Marfa, Texas, Ms. Force and I have created a new narrative of American public art. Today, we bring these relationships and expertise in production to Culture Corps. I graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1989 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture, and earned a Master’s degree in Architecture from Columbia University in 1991. I serve on the Board of Art Production Fund and have been a guest speaker at institutions including the Tyler School of Art, Brown University, Columbia University, The Rhode Island School of Design, The Sotheby’s Institute of Art, School of Visual Arts, and the New Museum, among others.
