About Doug Morrison

ABOUT ME I help midlevel and senior professionals in sales, marketing, operations and other fields develop compelling job-search documents. A certified professional resume writer (CPRW) with more than 25 years' professional writing experience, my work has appeared in 12 collections of resumes and cover letters published in the U.S. and North America - and I'm Charlotte, North Carolina's only award-winning professional (TORI Award) resume writer. HERE'S HOW I CAN HELP. My system will help you show hiring managers how you can solve problems. When you do, you have won the job. My systematic approach will * Make you a STORYTELLER. I will craft precise, value-driven "stories" which reflect critical-thinking skills.* Define your value.* Show employers that you'll deliver more to the bottom line; it will cost less to hire you. NO WORKSHEETS. I need two hours to "get-to-know-you" and help you discover the power of your potential - and communicate the value that you add. PERSONAL ATTENTION You'll get me, exclusively, PERIOD. No second-generation contract writers. QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF * Does YOUR resume differentiate you - and provide a predictor for future success?* Brand it brand YOU as a key resource within your industry?* Does it provide a compelling vision of who you are? BACK STORY A longtime resident of Charlotte, I've appeared as a guest commentator on WFAE (National Public Radio affiliate) and I've been interviewed by WCNC-TV, Channel 36, for a Job Series segment about seeking a job in a difficult economy. Later, I was selected as Regional Expert for LocalHires.com. In addition, I've been quoted in charlotte.com/careerbuilder about developing a powerful resume, and tackling the toughest interview question. With knowledge of the community, I co-authored "Charlotte: Nothing Could Be Finer,"(Towery Publishing, Memphis, Tennessee), a living history of Charlotte and its corporations. I write resumes and cover letters for executives and managers in sales, marketing, operations, banking and finance, IT, and other professions within diverse industries. Executive bio-narratives.
