About Douglas Miner

I am a computer geek that works as a trainer for TTEC. I currently train professionals on customer service and security. What do I mean by that? The client I support is a large financial company and in order to keep their clients accounts safe, my team has to know about security. Proper authentication and fraud awareness. This is the most important part of their jobs, and therefore account security is the most important part of my job. I am taking that focus, and my love for that and applying it to the computer world. I am learning all about networking and cybersecurity. My goal is to become a cybersecurity engineer and to help businesses and people be as safe as they can be online. Everything about our world runs on networks and the internet now. Be that through the actual world wide web and accessing websites from our phones and computers, or with the internet-of-things and controlling our personal cleaning robots (we named ours Hazel) or our TVs, security cameras, washing machines, fridges! All of these items are potential security risks, and they aren't even the biggest ones. When we do things online or change a setting, agree to those little "terms and agreements" without reading them, all of these are things that can compromise our security. My skills: Communication - I have 15+ years in the sales and customer service background, which has helped me develop great communication skills both with my co-workers and with my clients Networking - I am always learning more about networks including routing, IP addressing and subnetting, the OSI model, and of course configuring all of the routers, switches, hubs, APs and servers to work in the most efficient manner.
