About Dylan Kelso

I am a Policy Analyst at the Business Council of Alberta where I work closely with my colleagues to develop public policy recommendations that harness the business community's ability to contribute to making life better for Albertans. This means promoting policies that create prosperity, build community, and promote a healthy environment. In Fall 2020, I successfully completed my Master of Public Policy at the University of Calgary, with a research focus on Canada's oil and gas sector and its relationship to developing sustainable finance regulatory and market trends both domestically and abroad. My skill set is best utilized where project management meets government relations, policy research and analysis, communications, and campaign strategy development. Past Experience- ESG and Communications Coordinator at Resource Works Society, where I developed, coordinated, and executed a six-part webinar series on ESG challenges and opportunities in the Canadian oil sands- Research Officer in the BC Liberal Official Opposition Caucus, where I was responsible for understanding the intricacies of legislation/regulation and providing analysis, policy advice, and messaging to MLAs in five key natural resource-related portfolios: 1. Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development; 2. Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation; 3. Environment and Climate Change Strategy; 4. LNG and Natural Resource Opportunities; 5. Mines and Mineral Exploration. I also have several years of campaign experience, most recently developing a strategic youth engagement plan for the BC Liberal Party during the 2017 provincial election. This included a regional outreach strategy tailored to provide support from youth and young adults for local riding campaigns.
