About Dylan Lang

As a Senior Foreign Affairs Officer in the Office of Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, I work on advancing the U.S. policy agenda on human rights, democracy, and governance in the East Asia and Pacific and Western Hemisphere regions. I collaborate with international organizations, civil society, and foreign governments to promote and protect human rights, especially in the areas of education, health, and environment. I have over ten years of experience in public service, diplomacy, and policy analysis, with a strong background in law and social work. I joined the State Department as a Presidential Management Fellow, a prestigious leadership development program for advanced degree holders. During my fellowship, I also served as a Public Health Analyst at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where I supported the communication and coordination of the agency's response to emerging and zoonotic infectious diseases with Congress and other stakeholders. I hold a JD from New England Law | Boston, an MSW from Boston College, and a BS in Counseling and Human Services from The University of Scranton. I am passionate about advancing human rights, dignity, justice, and equality.
