About Edgar Alaniz

I’m a mechanical engineer and builder who specializes in turning complex ideas into real, physical things, especially for storytelling. At CrunchLabs, I design and build the large-scale engineering props you see in our YouTube videos, helping bring educational concepts to life through visually compelling, hands-on demos.I use Fusion 360 daily for CAD, CAM, and simulation, and I’m just as comfortable in the shop as I am on-screen. Whether I’m machining custom parts, 3D printing enclosures, welding steel frames, or wiring up sensors and controllers, I enjoy the challenge of building things that actually work and survive real-world testing. My background is in applied math and mechanical design, but most of my experience is earned at the workbench. I focus on fabricating, prototyping, iterating, and solving problems on the fly. From reverse osmosis rigs and wireless control systems to rocket-powered swings and escape room puzzles, I thrive on projects that require both creativity and precision.
