About Edgar Castillo

I have built a solid career in the field of International Development over the course of 15 plus years. This time encompasses six different countries in which I have held various management and advancement positions. Specifically, I’ve experienced directly supervising managers/directors, hands-on participation in proposal development, and implementation of programs funded by USAID, ECHO, EU, WB and Private Donors. Collectively and individually, these experiences advanced my naturally strong negotiation and strategic planning skills. I have refined the ability to work effectively in a demanding atmosphere handling multiple projects, establishing priorities, and performing under the pressure of deadlines. Simultaneously, I succeed at cultivating excellent working relations within the organization as well as with other humanitarian actors and stakeholders. A facility for language-learning has played an essential role in my international career; I am fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Russian. The collective, and over time experience have quickened my ability to adapt in intercultural, inter-agency, and multi-discourse challenges.
