About Edith Bertrand

A specialist in content creation, media and social networks, I've been working as a communications manager for Thales's optronics business since 2008. After 10 years devoted to the Angénieux brand, the cinema optics brand of the Thales Group, I joined the world of Science and Defence in 2019. Still within Thales' optronics activities, I now bring my skills to the Power Lasers, Contact Drones, Soldier Optronics (thermal cameras, weapon sights and night vision goggles) and Services sectors. Thales's soldier optronics solutions provide land forces, whether special or conventional, with the information they need to optimize their perception of combat, ensure their protection and maintain their operational advantage. Our high-power lasers are used by the world's most renowned research centers, enabling researchers around the globe to advance their understanding of the infinitely small, with a view to deploying major industrial and societal applications such as cancer treatment and medical imaging, and clean energy production through nuclear fusion. By integrating the start-up Aeromapper in 2024, Thales will have a complete portfolio of contact UAV solutions, with fixed or rotary wings, and remotely operated munitions, avionics and command and control systems for heterogeneous or swarmed UAVs. In this field, Thales intends to position itself as a leader in the French DITB to meet the equipment needs of the armed forces. Our service and maintenance solutions, which are as close as possible to combat zones and user requirements, ensure the best possible operational readiness rates for our optronic equipment, whether land-based, airborne or naval.
