About Elisavet Pasidi

I am a PhD researcher exploring how physical and social residential environments shape children’s engagement in risky play. With a background in child development and education, hands-on experience as a preschool educator, and my ongoing research in children’s geographies, children have always inspired me to co-create knowledge with and for them. Originally from Greece and currently based in the Netherlands, I am interested in similarities and differences in children's risky play opportunities across Southern and Northern Europe. Through my interdisciplinary work, I aim to contribute to child-friendly environments (from public spaces to parenting practices) that support children’s right to play in settings that are “as challenging as needed and as safe as necessary".
