About Ella Colwell

Currently, I am a Dining Room Server at Hotel Bellwether, honing my exceptional fine dining service skills while pursuing a B.A. in Law, Diversity, and Justice (Environmental Advocacy and Policy Planning Emphasis) with a Minor in Environmental Justice at Western Washington University. As I approach graduation, I am eager to transition into a career focused on environmental advocacy, legal accountability, and policy reform. Through my academic studies, I’ve developed skills in legal research and writing, policy analysis, regulatory compliance, and environmental justice advocacy. I’ve worked on projects examining corporate pollution accountability, community-based environmental justice, and the intersection of law and policy in environmental protection. These experiences have reinforced my passion for using the law as a tool for meaningful change. While my experience in hospitality has strengthened my ability to manage complex situations, communicate effectively, and lead in high-pressure environments, my true passion lies in fighting for environmental protection and ensuring vulnerable communities have access to justice. My goal is to attend law school at the University of Washington within the first few years after graduating from WWU. In the meantime, I am actively seeking internship opportunities in environmental law, policy, and advocacy to gain hands-on experience before law school.
