About Ellen Cook

To the patients, clients and staff of my Cicero Veterinary Clinic family: On June 1, 1985, I opened the door to Cicero Veterinary Clinic as the new owner and veterinarian. I had been practicing small animal veterinary medicine and surgery for ten years; now I was ready to fly solo. It was with joy and excitement, and a bit of anxiety, that I saw my very first patient in my very own veterinary practice. You and your pets have become my own family over the past twenty-nine years. On September 5, 2014, I faced another transition. It was with joy and excitement, sadness and trepidation, that I signed papers transferring ownership of Cicero Veterinary Clinic to Dr. Scott Emch. Dr. Scott embraces our clinic philosophy that “Your pet is part of OUR family”. I trust him, along with Helena, Jill and Claudette, to continue our relationship with you, your pets and your families. Practicing veterinary medicine is not just a job or a career. It is not what I do, but WHO I am. The good Lord blessed me with great love for all his creation; He also gave me the gift to heal animals and humans. In the friendly small town of Cicero, we have met and become family in our efforts together to keep your animal companions healthy. I am NOT retiring, but moving into the next phase of veterinary practice. I will still see patients on a limited basis. And I will always be available to advise you and listen to stories about you and your families, no matter how many legs they have! I will never stop being your pet’s “Doc” and you remain forever in my heart and prayers.
