Elton Simoes is an accomplished Non-Executive Board Director, Arbitrator, Mediator, Negotiator, Consultant and Business Executive with extensive and global experience in business operations, board governance, negotiation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution systems design. As a Board Director and/or CEO, Mr. Simoes architected accelerated sustainable growth and profitability, while building effective, competitive organizations by combining creative problem solving, strategic thinking, business acumen, with legal and dispute resolution skills and knowledge. Having lived and worked in Canada, United States, Europe, and Latin America, Mr. Simoes demonstrated outstanding record of leadership and sound business acumen in different organizations, across multiple functions, geographies, languages and cultures. He possesses extensive experience in resolving complex, multicultural, and/or multilateral commercial disputes and negotiations, avoiding/minimizing litigation costs, generating savings in time, effort, and resources. Mr. Simoes led businesses with annual revenues in excess of US$ 500 million, consistently delivering double digit growth, and managing global, high profile brands, as well as local brands. Elton Simoes held senior, high profile, corporate positions, such as Vice President at The Walt Disney TV Intl; Board Director at HBO Latin America; Managing Director Sports and Pay-per-view, at Globosat; and Board Chair at Playboy do Brazil. He serves as the President and Chair of the Board of Directors at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC); and is the former President and Chair of the Board of Directors at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of BC (ADRBC). He possesses solid academic background in business, law, and dispute resolution. He graduated from INSEAD (MBA and IDP); University of Victoria (MDR); NYU (IMP); FGV (MAE; CEAG; CGAE); and PUC (Law).
