About Em Witteveen

I am a graduate of Alma College, graduating with a Bachelor of Music in education in December 2019. My areas of emphasis are choral/vocal, theater, and elementary music. I am very organized, am a confident performer, and a creative teacher. As a part of my education courses, I have worked in classrooms at all grade levels culminating in student teaching readiness kindergarten through fifth grade at elementaries in the Rockford Public School system. I have worked with singers of all ages and abilities and have been a member of choirs and vocal ensembles for many years and have had significant experience with the production and performance sides of musical theater. I also worked as a Special Education paraprofessional at the middle school level modifying and accommodating assignments and lessons for students with IEPs and 504 plans. Working with young people and helping them find a love for music has been a passion of mine for many years. Working with private students as an instructor or accompanist as well as volunteering as a church musician has been an important part of my development as a musician and educator.
