About Emeric Kennard

I am an illustrator and storyteller committed to the power of art as a tool for global good. As an illustrator, I collaborate with clients across industries to tell meaningful, values-driven stories through beautiful and compelling imagery. I approach each creative project with a curious spirit, a dedication to craft, a sense of humor (essential), and a desire to bring out the deep heart of the subject. I bring excellent communication and project management skills to my work, developed from years of service in the arts, education, and nonprofit sectors. As a studio artist and self-publisher, I sell original art works and a unique lineup of comics, prints, and zines all produced and assembled in small batches at local, independent print studios. I create what I want to see more of: art and stories that center trans, queer, BIPOC, disabled, and neurodivergent experiences. I stitch together many genres, including fantasy, horror, and autobiography. Clients and collaborators have included Mende Design, David Baker Architects, Mother Jones Magazine, BOOM! Studios, Korean American Artist Collective, Queer Aesthetics Journal, and more. My work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators, exhibited throughout the United States, and appeared in a Lambda-nominated anthology and the acclaimed documentary film No Straight Lines: The Rise of Queer Comics.
