About Emily Ewen

I am currently an admissions counselor at Manchester University. I am in charge of our prospective students interested in the exercise science field. I connect with incoming students, their families, and faculty/staff on campus. I am able to use creativity to communicate and build relationships with these families through cards, phone calls, texts, and in person conversations. I was previously a 10th grade English teacher at Snider High School. I loved being able to make connections with my students and help them overcome challenges at school and in their home lives. It felt rewarding being able to use school to help them learn about themselves, their strengths, and their weaknesses (and how to overcome those). I ultimately shifted to the admissions position at the college level because that felt like a better fit for me. I also run my own online art business. I sell acrylic/watercolor paintings, cards, resin art, and custom pieces. Most of the art I create are custom commission pieces, but I would love to shift to selling mass pieces of original art that I make. Art is a huge passion of mine and I love being able to do this in my free time.
