About Emily Staley

Emily has enjoyed supporting businesses her entire career, and understands how a healthy economy relies on a talented workforce. She is working on the talent side of growing communities, in a support role ensuring teachers have the training they need to be successful in the classroom for Muskegon Public Schools.Prior to this, Emily was an economic development professional for 20+ years, leading marketing and communications, most recently leading efforts at Lakeshore Advantage for 5+ years. Before that, Emily engaged in marketing and PR agency work as the director of client services at Boileau Communications Management, a Holland-based public relations and brand reputation firm.Upon graduating from Michigan State University in 1996, she worked at Andersen Consulting (nowAccenture) as a change management consultant. She returned to Michigan from a long-term client assignment in the Northeast and became a marketing manager for the Michigan EconomicDevelopment Corporation, raising awareness of Michigan as a great place for business, particularly focusing on the Advanced Manufacturing industry sector.Emily was born and raised in West Michigan, and currently lives in North Muskegon.
