About Emily Wright

My life has always had two sides: 1. My love for mathematics, problem solving, learning, and research. My time in the gym and on the court as a varsity athlete (now retired). After retirement, I thought I'd lost the sports side of me, but during my time as a graduate student in statistics and actuarial mathematics at Concordia University, I learned that my life does not need to be divided. I currently work as a Data Scientist for Volleyball Canada with the Beach National Teams. I use mathematics, statistics and machine learning to study analytical data involving players, teams, and their performances. When I’m not on the job, I love travelling, trying new recipes and activities, and cuddling with my dog.
