About Emma Tuffin

I am a hard working, organised and enthusiastic person, who strives to do my best and achieve more. I regularly update my skills in my spare time to achieve new qualifications. I have worked with children and young people for 22 years now in paid and voluntary work in Primary, Secondary, Behaviour units, SEN and the play work sector.I always try to help others who are less fortunate than myself to give them support and pastoral care, note why I do the job I do now.I have a lot of experience in teaching classes and small groups, I am now a qualified Assessor in the Educational and Early Years sectors,after successfully completing the Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector and Assessor Award. I have completed a Mental Health in Children course as mental health is so important and I have a strong interest in this. I am currently looking for opportunities in Teaching English as a Foreign Language industry remotely. I have recently completed the 180 hour TEFL course as I am interested in working from home teaching English as a foreign language.I am currently working as a Primary Learning Mentor supporting children with barriers to learning on a 1:1 and group basis, such as self esteem, bereavement, mental health and behavioural needs. I am the Deputy Safeguarding Lead for the school. I plan work to support their need and I am also responsible for child protection, safeguarding, fostering and attendance paperwork for the school.I liaise with other agencies such as Social Services, bereavement services, child mental health and fostering services to signpost the pupils and families. My passion is teaching, TEFL, tutoring, mentoring and assessing.I also have a strong passion in speech and language.
