About Emma Ugrin

My name is Emma M. Ugrin, and I am a dedicated and multifaceted graduate of Boise State University, with a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Media and Strategic Communications with a specialized focus on Public Relations. Committed to excellence in communication, I have also pursued double minors in Journalism and Biology to expand my horizons and broaden my skillset.I pursue a minor in Biology because I am passionate about conservation and taking care of our planet. I also simply enjoy math and science-based classes that are not required for my overall major. This gives me a niche and allows me to combine my passions of writing, life and our planet, and communication. My passion for effective communication and storytelling has been shaped by hands-on experiences. During my internship at Boise Weekly, a local newspaper, I had the privilege of seeing my written work published and gaining insights into the power of journalism to inform and engage communities.Further, my role as a Public Information Specialist Jr. intern at the Idaho Parks and Recreation Department allowed me to delve into the world of public relations. Here, I honed my skills in strategic messaging, media relations, and community engagement, helping to promote the beauty and importance of Idaho's parks and recreational opportunities.In addition to my academic pursuits, I am an active member of the Alpha Chi Omega fraternity at Boise State University. This experience has provided me with invaluable opportunities to collaborate, lead, and manage teams, contributing to my personal and professional growth.With AXO, I have been dedicated to giving back to the community through my extensive volunteer work with the WCA, I have closely collaborated with PR and marketing teams to plan and execute large fundraising events, coordinate donations, and manage diverse groups of people.I am passionate about the intersection of media, communications, and public relations, and I am excited to leverage my education and experiences to make a meaningful impact in these fields.
