About Emma Winch

I'm a community-builder at heart, with over 20 years' experience shaping strategies around youth and community engagement, culture, heritage, and inclusion. I’ve done this through my work at Hackney Council, Black Cultural Archives, and as a freelance consultant supporting resident-led change across the UK. Along the way, I’ve- Designed award-winning youth and community programmes that centre people in policy-making- Led borough-wide consultations - translating insights into real action, so communities see their voices reflected in decisions- Driven large-scale co-design work - involving residents in the design of libraries, museums, heritage buildings, parks and public spaces and helping turn complex challenges into practical, equitable solutions. What motivates me? Building bold, inclusive strategies that make a tangible difference - whether that's removing barriers for underserved communities, reimagining public spaces, growing purpose-led teams, or transforming services.
