About Emmitt R. Jackson

A mission-centered law enforcement leader with a 17+ year law enforcement career, I am a decisive consensus builder and a highly effective communicator experienced in law enforcement and police leadership (6-years) in multiple roles in a diverse and large metropolitan environment with Dallas Police Department and currently as Chief of Police with the close-knit small community department of Keene, Texas. As an instructor, I have trained every rank within multiple organizations, including Captains, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs, and have managed or supervised 50+ employees at any one time. Adept at employing a servant leadership style to achieve individual and group objectives, I am driven to make a positive impact on the lives of subordinate officers and the citizens we serve. Leading to empower others to achieve personal and organizational growth by defining a shared vision and providing them the tangible tools needed for their success I have increased cohesiveness and motivation while surpassing citizen expectations for service and creating public good. Experienced in evaluating organizational strengths and weaknesses, defining the department’s mission and empowering others in the achievement of that mission. While managing budgets up to $9.8MM, I have performed needs assessments to identify vital expenditures and eliminate unnecessary costs, then applied savings to updating critical items such as vehicles and technology. My career is complemented by a Master of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and graduation from the Leadership Command College at the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT).
