About Eric Crosby

I have a broad set of competences and experiences obtained over my 20-year career in investment management and startups. I am motivated by problem solving, learning new things, combining the strategic with the creative, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve the team’s goals. My approach is analytical and practical (great ideas need to be implemented to make a difference) which helps me to quickly understand the new and complex. I am comfortable “wearing many different hats”, dealing with uncertainty, learning from mistakes. I can communicate often complex topics in a straightforward manner to various internal and external stakeholders, including company boards and potential investors. I am comfortable taking big decisions, having had substantial P&L responsibility and decision authority/influence throughout my career. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Business management: keen sense for looking across the different parts of the business to “see the big picture”, prioritizing actions and seeing them through to completion. Project management: key roles in various projects across investment management, marketing & sales, and internationalization. Startup management: I have directly been involved in the whole startup life cycle from pre-launch to MVP development, Go-To-Market strategy, launch, customer acquisition, product-market fit, pivot, funding round, and re-launch. I’ve learned that agility, curiosity, hard work, “strategy + implementation” mindset, company culture, and celebrating victories are all critical for success in a startup. Investment & risk management: deep investment product knowledge; risk management focus as it relates to investing as well as in the context of the “existential” challenges facing a startup.
