About Eric Isselhardt

As the CEO of New England Science & Sailing Foundation, I lead a non-profit organization that provides STEM-based education and sailing programs to over students annually. With a Ph.D. in Education Administration and Policy Studies, I have over 25 years of leadership experience in both secondary and post-secondary education venues, with a focus on increasing student achievement, large- and small-scale systemic reform, and blended/virtual learning in inquiry-driven pedagogies. My core competencies include innovation, instruction, and organizations, which I apply to translate strategic planning to tactical operation, derive from research-based foundations, and use data-driven approaches. I have successfully redesigned a small African country’s elementary school system, developed and initiated systemic reform in a large urban school system, transformed a Chinese immersion school system into a leading force in the New York City elementary education landscape, and developed and implemented an international virtual and analog blended learning public virtual charter and home schooling K-12 system. My leadership philosophy is based on consensus building and accountability, balanced by the ability to translate a core mission into action reflective of a shared vision. I am driven by a personal love of learning, a passion for education innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
