About Eric Kinaga

I work on governance strategy and institutional reform, focused on building public systems that are accountable, resilient, and aligned with citizens' needs. For over a decade, I’ve worked across the region to shape policy, design programs, and lead initiatives in complex political environments. My focus areas include governance, education, land, fiscal justice, and civic space—anchored in a commitment to build systems that are both functional and fair. Currently, I serve as a Democracy & Governance Specialist at USAID Kenya & East Africa. Prior to that, I led programs at The Institute for Social Accountability (TISA) and coordinated the Shule Yangu Alliance to protect public schools from land grabbing. I work at the intersection of politics, policy, and institutional design, bringing strategic focus to public systems in uncertain settings.
